What to do when you encounter rebar:
  1. STOP DRILLING!!! The sound of a rotary hammer or a carbide hammer drill bit hitting steel is much higher than when cutting concrete.
  2. Remove the drill bit from the hole.
  3. Mount a rebar cutter of the same diameter as the hole in either a standard 1/2" drill motor, or a 1/2" rotary percussion drill with the selector in the "rotary only" position.
  4. Insert the rebar cutter into the hole and begin drilling at the suggested RPM speed only. Apply just enough pressure to grind away at the rebar. Do Not Use Excessive Speed or Pressure on the Machine - this will either damage or break the rebar cutter.
  5. Once rebar is cut through, remove the rebar cutter from the hole and continue drilling with a rotary hammer or carbide hammer drill bit.
Carbide cutters are brazed in place to keep Rebar Cutter from enlarging existing hole.

Sizes 7/8" to 2-1/2" have threaded, screw-on (replaceable) heads. Exchange heads with any of the below extensions.

N/A Rebar Cutters are problem solvers only. A 1/2" Rebar Cutter drilling through #6 (3/4") rebar dead center may result in 5 to 10 holes being drilled provided correct speed and pressure are utilized. It is not uncommon for only one piece of rebar to be cut per Rebar Cutter. Rebar Cutters should not be used for drilling concrete.
